To insure that you keep you rifle, shotgun, pistols or any other firearms secure from damage to a from your favorite hunting spot or shooting range a gun case is an necessity that you cannot afford to ignore.  The days of have that rifle or shotgun hanging in the back of your old pick-up is just about history. Unless you are at the farm or ranch hunting groundhogs or coyotes whenever one show his carcass in that open field or fencerow. I am not sure that I like the way we are headed as far as the way I can carry my firearms. I guess there is a different in the term hand carry and transporting but that is a different subject to talk about at another time.

I first started this site to inform people about home gun cabinet and securing their firearms and family’s safety by purchasing something they can use to secure the rifles, shotguns, and pistol in their homes. I was surprised to have found so many styles and models available that a wide range of prices from the small budget of the average working man to whatever price you want to pay.

While looking at the gun cases that I purchased over the years there only two that are the same. I have hard plastic cases, cloth cases, aluminum case and a wooden gun case for my double barrel and over and under shotguns. To determining what style of gun case you would need you will have to ask yourself some questions. Where am I hunting? How many guns will I need when I get there?  How will I be carrying my firearm by hand, four-wheeler, jeep or horse back?

The cost of a gun case is considerably less than a gun cabinet but, I have seen a few in my day that cost more than most of the guns that own. The wide availability of gun case makes it very easy to purchase a gun case. Cabela’s have one of the best variety of gun cases in one place that I have found. The price ranges from under $20 dollars for a soft cloth gun case and hard plastic gun case to $ 100 dollars. I have even found a $10 dollar soft gun case there.

The Aluminum gun cases and the wooden take -down gun cases cost a little more but, you will be surprise that these gun cases are not that expense compared to the gun that they are designed to protect.
